Both Aelis and RR331 will make their debut at the upcoming edition of Paris haute couture fashion week this season. The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, which met on April 23, made the decision to invite the two couture houses as guest members. Both labels will present their collections for autumn/ winter 2019/2020 on Sunday, June 30, the inaugural day of the event which runs until July 4.

In addition to the two brands, the highest authority on couture in France invited its established roster of brands back for the upcoming couture week season. Aganovich, Antonio Grimaldi, Azzaro Couture, Georges Hobeika, Christophe Josse, Guo Pei, Iris Van Herpen, Ralph & Russo, RVDK / Ronald Van Der Kemp, Xuan, Yuima Nakazato, and Zuhair Murad will all showcase collections at the event.

For the designer Ralph Rucci of RR331, this season will actually be a return to Paris as he showcased a collection at the haute couture week 17 years ago. Five years ago, Rucci left his eponymous brand (which had been bought out in the meantime) to launch new brand RR331 which has a re-imagined aesthetic that includes more day dresses.

For Aelis’ designer Sofia Crociani, the invitation to take part in couture week also brings a great sense of recognition. Crociani has showcased her poetic and sustainable fashion that highlights craftsmanship, natural materials, and eco-friendly fabrics on the sidelines of Paris couture week for the past two years. Based between Florence and Paris, Crociani launched her own label after collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano for the past decade at Dior, Mugler, and Kenzo.
