Pep&Co’s deal to sell its fashion line through Poundland stores means the brand can launch in Northern Ireland faster than it would otherwise have done.

Pep&Co debuts in Northern Ireland in the next few weeks

The company has been looking at Northern Irish locations since 2015 and it has now been revealed that the brand will launch there through Poundland stores in Coleraine at the end of this month and in Londonderry in early April.

Pep&Co and Poundland are both owned by Steinhoff International. The company had been steadily opening Pep&Co standalones in Britain, but late in 2016 it announced plans to sell the menswear, womenswear and kidswear line through all 900 of its UK Poundland stores from this year. It is opening a number of concessions in larger Poundland locations with smaller stores getting an edited selection of the line.

Pep&Co managing director Adrian Mountford said the company had seen Northern Ireland as a potentially strong market for the brand and could now launch there without having to wait to open its own stores.
