Pitti Immagine reveals management reshuffle
Staying unchanged for a number of years, the management structure at Pitti Immagine has reorganised under the guidance of new president Claudio Marenzi. The entrepreneur in March succeeded Gaetano Marzotto, who presided over the group for 15 years, overseeing the firm's tradeshows Pitti Uomo, Bimbo, Filati, Fragranze, Modaprima Super and Taste.
Marenzi's appointment was accompanied by a complete reelection of Pitti Immagine's board, who in turn gathered on Tuesday, July 18 to process an "internal reorganisation", which saw at its core a series of managerial promotions take place.
As stated by Claudio Marenzi in a press release, "The goal is to strengthen the firm, making the operational structure even more efficient, to enhance the roles and competencies of senior management, and finally, to encourage internal growth."
As a result, deputy chief executive Agostino Poletto, who oversees the marketing direction, has been promoted to chief executive, taking the role from Raffaello Napoleone. The charismatic manager for the Florentine tradeshow will not see his influence in the group diminish, however.
In fact, Napoleone retains his role as chief executive officer of Pitti Immagine with all the duties associated with that, and also takes on "a more specific management function for institutional relations and public relations."
Lapo Cianchi, director of communications and events, remains such at Pitti Immagine, while being promoted to deputy chief executive. Vincenzo Franco retains his previous responsibilities "providing general functions of the operational and management nature."
