The style was first introduced in 2019 in a Chalk colourway.

Made from “things that grow”, the shoe has an upper made of 100% cotton and a biobased sole derived from corn which delivers comfort and durability. It also features an insole made from castor bean oil. Additionally, the Reebok style is the first shoe on the market to have been certified for containing 75% USDA certified biobased raw materials, and is sold in 100% recycled packaging.

Bill McInnis, head of Reebok Future, said, “We have been thrilled at the response to the Cotton + Corn line and are excited to release three new colorways to complement the existing Chalk silhouette. But this is still only the beginning, we are working diligently on the next iteration of the range on our journey to create a 100% biobased, fully compostable shoe.”

For the launch of the new Cotton + Corn colourways, Reebok partnered with DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio products, a leading manufacturer of high-performance biobased solutions. DuPont Tate & Lyle has developed Susterra® propanediol, a pure, petroleum-free, non-toxic product that contains 100% USDA certified biobased materials. Susterra® propanediol is used to create the sole of the NPC UK Cotton + Corn footwear.

The NPC UK Cotton + Corn Sneakers come in unisex sizing and and will available for purchase in limited quantities in the brand’s online shop.
