American footwear brand Saucony is aiming to expand its presence in Spain, as part of its strategy for 2027. To achieve this goal, the company is planning on enlarging and consolidating its commercial network in the country, with the aim of driving sales growth.

Saucony, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, currently has 200 points-of-sale in the Spanish market. The company plans to grow both its physical footprint and sales within the establishments where it already operates, as outlined by the company in a statement.

"The company, which has experienced exponential growth internationally in recent years, sees Spain as one of its key markets due to its similarities with its main commercial area, Italy. That is why Saucony has expanded its team to meet demand and needs, as well as to accelerate and drive new business," said Saucony.

The company has its own team for the country, which covers the northern, central, and eastern regions, while three agents manage the southern region, the Canary Islands, and the Portuguese market.

Barcelona and Madrid will be the main focus of the brand's efforts, although Saucony "also aims to grow in other smaller territories through independent boutiques and other multi-channel points of sale," said the company.

Saucony, despite having more than a century of history, gained popularity in the 1970s when running became popular in the United States and the brand focused on designing footwear for professional athletes.

In addition to its original category, Saucony now also produces a variety of casual-style sneakers, as well as sports clothing and accessories.
