Scott was most recently a consultant for premium brands in Paris and the UK, and was a key player in launching Donna Karan Menswear, Johnstons said. He has 27 years of top level experience in America, Italy, Japan and UK and has held Design Director roles at Loro Piana, Vestimenta, Trussardi, Alan Scott Milan, and Academic Programme leadership at Northumbria University, Sunderland University, and St. Martins School of Art.

Johnstons of Elgin, which was founded in 1797, is one of the few remaining vertical mills in the UK still carrying out all the processes from raw cashmere and fine woollen fibres right through to the finished product. The company has seen strong growth in recent years and opened its first-ever London store in December, in a five-story building on 77 New Bond Street that also holds wholesale and showroom areas on the upper levels.
