Since 2008, Desazars has served as president of Nars Cosmetics (Shiseido-owned). Barbara Calcagni, senior vice president of global marketing at Nars, will succeed Desazars as president of the makeup brand.

In his new role, Louis Desazars will be responsible for implementing Shiseido’s strategic "Vision 2020". The plan is intended to put into place a decentralized governance system in six regions, including in Europe, and to develop the group’s brands in a way that is more tailored to the specificities of each market.

Desazars will report to Masahiko Uotani, CEO of Shiseido, and will be based in Paris.
