Women’secret owner Cortefiel Group has appointed Miguel Ibarrola as non-executive chairman, succeeding Javier Campo, who has resigned from the role due to his increasing professional commitments with the boards of Bankia and Meliá Hotels.

Ibarrola is to take over the leadership of the board with immediate effect, said Cortefiel in a press release.

Before joining Cortefiel, he worked at companies such as Arthur Andersen, Grupo Navidul and Campofrío. He acted as CEO of Zena Group from 2003 until 2015, and remains in the company as a member of the board.

As well as leaving his role as non-executive chairman, Javier Campo will leave his position as independent director.

With over 2,095 stores and points of sale, Cortefiel is one of the largest retailers of Spain. It is present in 87 countries under its five brands: Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Springfield, Women’secret and outlet chain Fifty Factory.

Each brand has its own design team and sales and management structure.

Earlier in March, the company named Jaume Miquel as General Manager of Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro and Women’secret.
