Occupying 943 sq ft, the retail space will be located within the new £600m extension at the shopping centre, which opened last year with a line-up of brands that included H&M, John Lewis, Ugg, The White Company and Cath Kidston.

“London has always been an inspiring place for me. In fact, my first shoes ever from Steve Madden were made in a factory located in Hackney. I love everything British: the music, the fashion...it’s always been a dream of mine to open a store in London,” said brand founder and creative director Steve Madden.

The brand has been available in the UK through Kurt Geiger, which is its UK distributor, and other third party retailers such as Asos, however, the store will offer the largest collection of Steve Madden shoes and handbags in the UK, stocking more than 350 styles.

To celebrate the opening, Steve Madden will host a special VIP event with supermodel and activist Winnie Harlow, who collaborated with the label on a Fall Winter 2019 capsule collection. And the shop will become the epicentre of a series of events, including a series of activations, giveaways and themed food & beverages.

Kurt Geiger CEO, Neil Clifford, commented: “We’re thrilled to be working with Steve Madden in the UK and opening the first Steve Madden flagship store. We look forward to seeing how the customers react to the new store and collection.”
