Stromae's 3rd capsule collection is graphic and colourful

Over a year after its second ready-to-wear line, Stromae's independent creative label Mosaert has presented its 'Capsule no. 3', which combines the ubiquitous print techniques inspired by African wax prints with the classical/dandy style typical of the Belgian pop singer, of 'Papaoutai' fame. The collection can be viewed online at the www.mosaert.com e-store.

The design collective's textile creations originate from the cooperation between the Mosaert styling team, the graphic designers from Bold At Work, and fashion designer Coralie Barbier, Stromae's wife. Their work is instantly recognisable, thanks to its classic, impeccable cuts and fun, colourful tiled motifs.

The first capsule collection, simply called 'Capsule no. 1', saw the light in April 2014, and essentially consisted of polos and socks, which took on an iconic status. It was soon followed by a second collection, at the end of 2014, which added cardigans and sweaters to the range, always featuring the same quirky vibe.

Now the label has unveiled a third collection, once again a highly distinctive one. Bright colours, prints of all kinds, graphic designs: the collection is perhaps less 'rigid' than the first two, but it preserves the collective's DNA. A novelty this season is the introduction of velvet, "to sublimate the prints' effect."

In terms of print designs, this third collection focuses chiefly on flowers, in a range of red and navy hues. It also features a flight of birds, very spring-like, in navy and pink colours. Polos and socks are ever-present, but the collection extends into sweatshirts, t-shirts and jogging pants.

"Capsule no. 3" is available on Mosaert's online store, as well as at the 'Hunting & Collecting' store in Brussels. The prices range between €17 and €198.
