Early last month, Spanish jewelry brand TOUS and blogger Gala Gonzalez hosted a party to celebrate the TOUS spring collection, the debut of the brand’s ‘Tender Stories’ short film and a collaboration collection.

Miami, and particularly its lifestyle and art world, is behind the TOUS SS15 collection, which features 18Kt yellow gold, sterling silver, and titanium embellished with crystals, quartz, and diamonds. To showcase the collection, the brand released short films by Victor Carrey entitled ‘Tender Stories’.

"We launched Tender Stories, because we feel tenderness is very TOUS," said Rosa Tous, corporate Vice President of TOUS. "Tenderness has been there since the beginning, we are a family-owned business. We have to be brave to be tender."

Gala Gonzalez seemed like the perfect fit for collaboration, not only because of her fashion design background or her Spanish roots, but because according to her they, "…share a lot of things in common—our vision, our way of working, our system."

Though Gonzalez was inspired by Greek and Roman jewelry for the collection, the Gala for TOUS collection captures TOUS’ values of being ‘tender’, ‘fun’ and a ‘young spirit’.

"Doing jewelry was always something I’ve wanted to explore," said Gonzalez. "I wanted to do this with someone that had the experience and who also had Spanish roots and an international presence, which is why we both clicked so well."

On the collection, Gonzalez said, "I wanted to design something organic and real. I really wanted to go back to simple things and something that every woman can wear every single day that is easy and can be a part of their lifestyle. I wanted something that is part of you without you even realizing it and it doesn’t take over your life."

Although the collection has been a success thus far, at the time of the launch two said they did not share plans for another collaboration. "There is nothing now but there could be in the future," Tous said. "I like to improvise. Maybe the next collaboration we’ll do will be handbags. I think people will be really happy to get this product because the feedback has been great," Gonzalez added.

Tous has collaborated with Manolo Blahnik and Samsung recently, and Gala Gonzalez designed a capsule collection with Mango in the past.
