In October one of these will open upon an area covering nearly 97,000 sq ft in the Metreon Center in San Francisco. It is also in this center that the group will test another brand. Following the indiscretion of the San Francisco Chronicle, Target has confirmed the launch of its first sports shop there. It will inaugurate its first C9 Active Apparel store on October 14. Target has been offering its customers a line of sportswear called C9 by Champion since 2004.

In the fall, then, target will operate the line as its own brand on nearly 4,300 sq ft in what it considers one of the most active cities in the United States. This new fitness-oriented store, will offer clothing and equipment for fitness, yoga, and running, as well as golf and basketball, for both men and women.
