Already present in Germany and Italy, QVC is now launching in France, where TF1 and M6 currently reign supreme for home shopping. The American home shopping channel is launching its website in June and will begin broadcasting its channel in August. The experience will be interactive, according to a statement, involving social networks in particular. While the channel will broadcast continuously, customer calls and interactions on Facebook can be shared in real time.

On Thursday, May 21, QVC presented its concept and inaugurated, in a sense, its local French subsidiary, located in Aubervilliers. 130 employees are already at work and, in total, QVC France should have 250 employees within the next three years. Logistics, however, is being managed by QVC Germany.

On average, QVC offers 30 new home, beauty, jewelry and fashion products each day. By the end of the year, QVC intends to offer 1,000 products for sale in France, of which a third will come from SME brands or designers who are not very well known to the general public.

To oversee the subsidiary, the company has sent over Steve Bridgeman, who has worked at the company for fifteen years, and who recently served as chief merchandising officer in the UK. The French team also includes Bruce Cogitore for finance, Christelle Laure Collin for marketing, Olivier Hermen for media operations, Fabienne Ringenbach for human resources, Sue Schick as director TV sales, production, and e-commerce, and Philip van der Merwe as merchandising and programming manager.

QVC, which generated 8.8 billion dollars (7.9 billion euros) in turnover in 2014, and which is accessible in more than 300 million homes worldwide, is already present in Italy, Germany, Japan, China, UK, not to mention the United States.
