The new marketing director EMEA for The North Face, Tina Rolén, will doubtlessly be very busy at the ISPO trade show which is starting in Munich on Sunday June 30. The outdoor brand owned by VF Corp. has been under the spotlight after presenting a new material featuring the Futurelight technology last winter. For next winter, the material will be used for gloves, tents and jackets. Queries about the development of new products for summer 2020 will also abound.

Tina Rolén - The North Face

But Rolén will surely keep her cool. She joined VF Corp. last September as marketing director EMEA of Vans, but had previously worked for two years as marketing director worldwide for outdoor brand Haglöfs. Sweden-born Rolén had until then worked in her native country. She notably spent 10 years with Adidas, eventually taking charge of the German brand in northern Europe from 2012 to 2015. After one year as general manager of childrenswear brand Mini Rodini, she returned to the sportswear industry in 2016.

Last October, Jan Van Leuwen was appointed general manager EMEA of The North Face. It seems there is a strong Vans-The North Face connection at VF Corp. Europe, since Van Leuwen was previously the general manager Europe for Vans, and Jérémy Blondel, The North Face’s current sales director, had been in charge of sales at Vans since 2016.
