Retailers are finding many different ways to boost their sustainability credentials and The-Bias-Cut.com, the 'age-inclusive' independent fashion e-tailer, has launched a Cost Per Wear Calculator to encourage customers to carefully consider every purchase.

The online tool can be used on every product available on the site, and responds to a growing desire among fashion consumers to shop more sustainably.

Highlighting the importance of purchasing garments that will be worn regularly, the calculator divides the price of an item by how many times you think you will wear it.

“To break the fast fashion cycle, we advocate buying fewer items overall, and instead investing in quality garments that will last longer,” said Jacynth Bassett, who founded the platform in 2016.

“The purpose of the Cost Per Wear Calculator also fits in line with the-Bias-Cut.com's focus on age-inclusivity. By curating ageless, quality collections, not only are our customers investing in pieces for themselves, but they can be enjoyed by their mothers and daughters too."

Branded as “the first age-inclusive” fashion boutique, the site was founded by Bassett after growing frustrated at seeing women, like her mum, being treated as invisible by much of the fashion industry largely due to their age.

Bassett also started the movement Ageism Is Never In Style and at the end of September, she launched her own label Jacynth London, comprising cashmere designs and accessories.

In addition to the Cost Per Wear Calculator, the website offers a Shop by Body Shape function.
