Tommy Hilfiger’s latest collaboration partner is London-based designer Richard Quinn with the resulting collection marrying Hilfiger’s deft way with casualwear and Quinn’s love of print and pattern.

Hilfiger has reportedly wanted to work with Quinn since the latter won the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award in 2018 and has now had that chance via a 40-piece capsule collection of pimped-up American classics with Quinn’s signature daisy motif to the fore alongside Hilfiger’s TH Monogram, other florals and tartans.

The offer includes a wide range of items from varsity jackets to five-pocket jeans, biker jackets, puffers, chinos, holdalls, backpacks, boots, scarves and more. They’re inspired by a variety of cultural references including Brit-punk and all-American cheerleader.

Interestingly, as well as the adults’ offer, there are six mini-me pieces for kids, including denim and leather jackets, tops and leggings.

It feels like a win-win collection for both labels with Quinn bringing an edgy relevance to the Hilfiger style — just as he did with his Moncler collab not many seasons ago — while Hilfiger offers Quinn massive exposure.

Quinn has made a major impact since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2016 and for this collab, Hilfiger praised his ability to “push boundaries”.

The American designer also said that the collection links two “distinct aesthetics to create a rebellious take on modern prep”.

Having launched on Thursday, it’s available in select Tommy Hilfiger stores and on the brand’s webstore, plus at high-end multibrand and department stores around the world. It’s being supported by a campaign shot by Adrienne Raquel.
