Tommy Jeans is latest collab for busy Aries

Luxury streetwear brand Aries is having a busy month with the London-based label following up a Yoox collaboration earlier in March with a Tommy Hilfiger link-up this week.

Tommy x Aries

Hilfiger’s Tommy label has unveiled a 35-piece collection with Aries that “focuses on shared silhouettes and proportion play, detailed by Aries' handcrafted and distressed techniques to reimagine classic Tommy codes”.

It debuts on the last day of the month at selected Tommy Jeans stores and wholesalers, on the Tommy webstore and at the Aries store in London.

The launch takes in menswear, womenswear and footwear with the collection “inspired by Tommy Jeans’ archives and updated through an Aries lens”.

That means “a powerful play of exaggerated proportions on layers and denim are seen throughout the collection, bringing a distinct Aries luxury streetwear vibe to modern prep”.

And a “curated selection” within the collection is dubbed Tommy x Aries: Remade. They’re “one-of-a-kind items handcrafted by Aries from existing garments – derived from post-consumer waste and surplus materials”.

The imagery around the launch was photographed by Angelo Pennetta and features Grammy nominated rapper GloRilla, grime artist Novelist, and Aries family 5EB, Brian Tshabola, Haajar Djouada, Kasper Kapica, Kirbs, Nathan Rosen and Xiao Wang.

As mentioned, earlier in March Aries partnered with Yoox.com on a capsule collection with a gender-neutral focus. Comprising 13 pieces, it includes sweatshirts, T-shirts, baseball caps, tops and leggings with technical fabrics and details borrowed from activewear.

There are also sweaters, shirts and trousers given added interest via tie-dye, and suits “with a sartorial soul, elegant but versatile”.
