Trinity Group, the menswear subsidiary of the Hong Kong giant Li & Fung, has announced a new CEO: Richard Samuel Cohen, effective May 22. The Brit previously served as senior vice president of business development at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Before that, he spent 16 years as President and CEO of Zegna North America. In the 80’s, Cohen presided over the sales department at Burberry in the United States.

The group, which is listed on the stock exchange, has planned to pay its new CEO 500,000 US dollars annually over the first three years.

"Richard's international brand-building expertise in luxury menswear, along with continued access to Sunny's knowledge of China retail, is a powerful combination as we move Trinity's 'Global Brands, Global Networks strategy' to the next stage," said Victor Fung, chairman of Fung Group.

The current Trinity CEO, Sunny Wong Yat Ming, will be appointed executive director of Fung Retailing Limited on the same day.

Trinity Group manages 486 stores, including 386 in China, 42 in Hong Kong and Macau, 15 in the UK and Ireland, and one in France (the flagship Cerruti on Place de la Madeleine in Paris).

A subsidiary of Fung Group (Li & Fung), Trinity Group distributes Salvatore Ferragamo’s collections in Asia, and has acquired the fashion houses Cerruti and the tailors Britain Kent & Curwen and Gieves & Hawkes.
