Trinny London, the stackable makeup collection launched by former What Not to Wear presenter Trinny Woodall, will debut its first standalone US store at John Barrett’s new salon in Manhattan, New York.

The beauty brand has rapidly gained traction on social media, with 1 million users following it across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to get tips on how to find the right shade to suit their skin tone, hair and eye combination.

The inaugural US site will open on 8 May, but Trinny and her London team will treat fans to a series of makeup masterclasses with the brand’s artistry director Cha Cha from Monday 6 of May until Thursday 9.

“As I travelled the globe, I improvised my own personalised makeup kit. In a quest for the perfect tone and consistency I would mix a stick foundation with a liquid, blend a lip tint with a gloss. I mushed up colours and decanted them into little pots. At that point, I thought that there has to be a better way. After three years of experimenting, planning, developing formulas, and state-of-the-art technology to pinpoint which makeup truly suits women, the big idea was born: the ultimate easy, modern, do-it- everywhere, premium makeup brand: Trinny London,” Trinny Woodall said.

“I am excited to partner with John to debut Trinny London in store, in the U.S. to provide clients with an exceptionally personalized service and provide the best of both worlds from makeup to hair.”

Launched just over a year ago, the cosmetics brand is sold online in over 65 countries. Last year it secured a retail deal with Selfridges and opened pop-ups in the department store’s  London, Manchester and Birmingham branches.
