UBM restructures and expands Tom Nastos' responsibilities

The news comes as the next logical step in the shake ups announced by UBM. Over the past months, the American tradeshow organizer has been mobilizing in order to bring new solutions to fashion professionals, leading to internal restructuring. Fashion Network previously reported on the recent appointment of Pierre-Nicolas Hurstel as executive VP in charge of strategy and development, with a particular focus on new formats and digital media. Now UBM Fashion has also expanded the areas of responsibility of Tom Nastos, previously president of womenswear.

Tom Nastos - UBM Fashion

The ex-CEO of tradeshow organizer ENK (Magic, Coterie, Sole Commerce...) before its takeover by UBM in 2014, is now in charge of all events related to womenswear, menswear and accessories. This decision follows in the wake of a number of strategic decisions made by the events organizer, including the creation of a dual-gender tradeshow named Project in July.

As president of this new women, men and accessories division, Tom Nastos will continue to work under UBM Fashion's managing director, Mike Alic.

UBM's recent restructuring reflects a new, more holistic and less segmented approach to tradeshows, offering new season highlights in June and July in order to better suit the needs of buyers with increasingly varied profiles and demands.
