USA labels Symrise organic

Symrise, fourth largest manufacturer of perfumes and flavourings, has received the U.S. Department of Agriculture Organic Certification. The German company know that they can rely on rapidly commercialising freshly labeled ‘organic’ perfumes, created on their sites of production in New Jersey; especially as the organic market in America is growing fast.

Last year, Symrise acquired the American enterprise Manheimer Fragrances, producer of perfumes and flavourings labeled organic and natural. Though there was little expansion in the market last year, the designation ‘USDA Organic”, roughly equivalent to European certification of organic and ecologically manufactured products, should stimulate a large response amongst their American clientele.

For Roberto Ascoli, Senior Vice President Scent & Care Division Creation & Innovation at Symrise, ‘organic cosmetics and perfumes constitute a relatively new market in the USA. Prospects for large growth are envisaged here. Our clients and consumers are becoming more selective in their choices. Preserving the environment has become a priority. This certification is an important step for Symrise.’

With global sales estimated at €1.32 million in 2008, Symrise can be counted as one a world leader in the production of perfumes and flavourings. The company is located in more than 35 countries over Europe, Asia, the USA and South America.
