The VF Foundation, the philanthropic arm of American apparel company VF Corporation, provided grants totalling more than $8 million to 77 community partners worldwide between April 4, 2021, and April 2, 2022, resulting in a positive impact on over three million people. In addition, VF’s associates and portfolio of brands invested nearly $23 million in monetary and product donations throughout the year to further their social responsibility commitments.

The VF Foundation’s grantees and highlights include the Full Circle Expedition and Wind River Indian Reservation, where the foundation funded the first Black expedition team to summit Mount Everest, promoting greater access and opportunities for underrepresented communities in the outdoors, according to the foundation’s third impact report titled ‘Seeding Change, Growing Impact’.

Furthermore, the VF foundation’s funding supported Paradox Sports’ trips to Grand Teton and Yosemite National Parks for 20 veterans with disabilities, empowering veterans by providing unique and life-changing experiences. The foundation also supported Regenerative Rising’s development of the Generalised Regenerative Agriculture Sourcing Specification (GRASS), accelerating regenerative agriculture principles in the marketplace.

The Nature Conservancy received a grant to develop a toolbox of metrics and curricula to reintroduce indigenous and Latinx ranchers to regenerative ranching, while the Trust for Public Land was supported in transforming schoolyards into vibrant recreation spaces that meet community needs and address environmental inequities. Additionally, the VF Foundation’s grant helped Creatives Want Change (CWC) send a new cohort of students to pre-college programmes, building an educational pipeline in fashion design, and cultivating a diverse creative talent pool for the industry.

Finally, the foundation’s work with Forum for the Future aimed to transition the US agricultural system towards a just and regenerative one. VF brand representatives actively participated in the Growing Our Future (GoF) community, which brings together more than 135 organisations to drive scale for the transition to regenerative agriculture.
