As recycling becomes a key focus of all aspects of a fashion business, Valentino has announced an interesting link-up that aims to re-use its runway show sets for creative purposes.

Following its SS23 couture show, it has partnered La Réserve des Arts, a French non- profit organisation founded with the aim of supporting the circular economy in the creative sector.

The group salvages sets, props and visual merchandising products “to which it gives new life, offering them to a community made up of over 10,000 members, students and art professionals who can buy them for their own creative work”.

It also works to raise environmental awareness through educational projects.

The fashion house said it’s a “mission of sharing value that is fully embraced by Maison Valentino, which entrusted La Reserves Des Arts with the task of recovering part of the set-up of the 25 January show”.

That includes the 475 sq m runway carpet, the draperies and the textile materials. These will be offered in two of the three French stores after being reconditioned.
