Veja to open first US store in New York
Veja is arriving in New York. The duo at the helm of the French eco-sustainable sneaker brand, Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillon, have picked the Nolita area in Manhattan as the location for Veja’s first store in the USA, which will open at 205 Mulberry Street this weekend.

In the course of just a few months, Veja has made headway in a number of areas: last September, it dropped its first tech running shoe, the Condor, and in early November it opened its first monobrand store, located in the Marais district in Paris.
Before all this, in July, Veja's founders announced the appointment of a new general manager, Laura Browne, formerly with Auchan Retail.
For the interior design of the New York store, Veja turned to local architect Paul Van Der Grient of WXY Studio. The brief was to go for a raw, minimalist look. The pared-down interiors feature unfinished brick and white-painted walls, white furniture and a light-coloured parquet flooring. The retail area extends over 250 m2.
As in the Paris store, two neon installations by Brazilian artist Kleber Matheus provide both illumination and decoration. The neon’s, and the whole store’s energy comes from 100% renewable sources, and is provided by Abest.

Veja’s main markets are the USA, the UK, France, Germany and Benelux. In 2018, the brand’s revenue reached €34 million, well up over the €20 million recorded in 2017.
Veja expected to top the €50 million mark soon after that, and in fact it did so in 2019, generating a revenue of €65 million. Veja is a sustainable success story that has reached major milestones in recent years, becoming a benchmark in the apparel and footwear sectors, and beyond.
