PARIS, France - According to our sources, the ready-to-wear brand – which was also recently welcomed back to the Haute Couture calendar – will open a store on Paris’ famous rue Saint-Honoré, taking the place of an Anne Fontaine store which had occupied the retail space since 2007. Viktor & Rolf opened its first ever store in Milan in 2005 but shortly closed it in 2008.

The news marks and important step for the design duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, who have chosen to present their collection in Paris since 1998, five years after their debut at the Hyères festival. Based in Amsterdam, the label also recently joined the ranks of Paris haute couture and will send its creations down the runway next month. The label recently announced that its upcoming menswear show will instead take form as a presentation and will be held in Paris just a few days before the Haute Couture event.

The brand was acquired by Renzo Rossi’s Only The Brave group in 2008 and has success with a flourishing fragrance licensing deal with L’Oréal Paris.
