The retail expansion of Dutch childrenswear label Vingino, founded in 2001 by Benny Dekker, is set to continue in 2017. The label is planning further store openings in Europe, and is ready to enter the US market, with a debut this season.

In Europe, Vingino generates 40% of its revenue in the Netherlands, followed by Germany (20%) and Italy (15%). The latter country grew faster in 2016 (+19%) than the entire group, which recorded a 14% growth overall. The label is present in Italy with two monobrand stores and about 400 multi-brand stores and shop-in-shops.

"In 2017 we are set to open mono-brand stores elsewhere in Italy, possibly in Milan, Florence and Verona," Vingino's Italy Country Manager Elia Guidi has told FashionNetwork.com. "Elsewhere in Europe, we are planning five new openings in the first six months of the year, in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. In spring/summer 2017 we will also land in the USA, via a licence agreement with a local distributor"

At the Pitti Bimbo 84 children's fashion show in Florence, Vingino introduced a girl's capsule collection for AW17/18 inspired by the 'Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends' sitcom, now showing on one of Italian national broadcaster RAI's TV channels. The show tells the story of two teenage girls who dream of becoming fashion designers in Milan.

Vingino showcased its new collection at Pitti Bimbo using a team of young hip hop dancers/models, in keeping with the event’s focus on dance.
