Vogue Paris chooses Eugénie Trochu to lead editorial content

Condé Nast has named Eugénie Trochu as head of editorial content at Vogue Paris. In her new role, Trochu, who has been at the company since 2011, will lead the operations, strategy and editorial vision of the fashion publication. Her appointment comes four months after the announcement of the departure of Emmanuelle Alt, who had served as editor-in-chief of French Vogue for a decade. The changes are part of wider restructuring efforts being undertaken by Condé Nast International over the last few months, which have seen the media giant replace seasoned editors-in-chief with a new digital-savvy generation.

"Eugénie first joined Condé Nast a decade ago, as an intern for Vogue U.S. in Paris. And throughout the last decade, her passion for and dedication to the world of fashion has only strengthened. Eugénie has been instrumental in developing strong relationships within the fashion community, and in building Vogue’s digital presence in the market," said Anna Wintour, global editorial director at Vogue and chief content officer at Condé Nast, in a release.

"With Eugénie's appointment as head of editorial content, we aim to elevate trends across French fashion, culture and style so they speak louder to Vogue’s global audience," added Vogue's European editorial director, Edward Enninful OBE, who emphasized the importance of the publication's French edition in the world of fashion.

Having graduated from the Sorbonne with a degree in literature and journalism, Trochu joined Condé Nast as an intern in 2011. She went on to work at Vogue Paris, where she most recently served as fashion editor of Vogue.fr and market editor of Vogue Paris.

Based in Paris, Trochu will work under the direction of Wintour and Enninful. Her appointment is the latest development in a new global editorial strategy being implemented by Condé Nast and follows the appointment of Francesca Ragazzi to a similar role at Vogue Italia.
