Volcom opens two Chinese stores with new licensee
Inaugurated in June, the Californian brand’s new Chinese stores are located in Hangzhou’s Mixc Mall and the Summer Mall, in surfing and beach resort Sanya. China Ting Group intends to open a further 10 Volcom stores this year, building a fleet with a total of 12 locations in the country by the end of 2020.
Volcom also plans to re-launch its APAC e-commerce platform in 2021.
As a leading Chinese lifestyle company specialized in retail development and brand building, China Ting Group plays a key role in ABG’s expansion plans for Volcom in the APAC region.
For the last 10 years, Volcom’s presence in China has been limited to an assortment of lifestyle apparel sold via the Tmall e-commerce platform and a selection of specialty retailers. Hong Kong-based China Ting Group, which was founded in 1992 and operates sales offices in New York, Paris, Shenzhen and Hangzhou, will help the brand widen its reach, offering Chinese consumers a full assortment of apparel and accessories designed specifically with the local market in mind.
