Wal-Mart aims for $9 billion e-commerce sales by 2014

The American retailer expects make $9 billion through online sales in 2014. The group is looking to focus. For future investments, the group is looking focus efforts in the UK, Brazil, China and of course in the United States.

E-commerce sales are expected to increase 45% in this market over the next four years, according to Forrester Research. This positioning is in response to the growth of online competitor Amazon, which would impact the sale of Wal-Mart physical goods overseas.

Wal-Mart group operates through a network of 10,300 stores under 69 different names located in 27 countries. It has set up online business in ten countries. In 2012, the group is expected to earn about $444 billion in sales.
