The retailer invested $109.04 billion to expand its Central American business, including investments in infrastructure, retail spaces and technology.

In 2015 Walmex opened three supercenter stores, four supermarkets, eight outlet stores and eight warehouses.

The retailer also revamped 44 stores last year, in a $264 million investment.

Walmart's Mexico division is the largest unit outside of the US. It has traded in the Mexican Stock Exchange since 1977 and has over 2,300 stores in the country.
