Windows Wear reveals window displays in stores the world over
Founded in 2012 and based in New York, the Windows Wear company features an e-commerce website where customers can select and buy their favourite apparel, choosing from a virtual showroom of current window displays in top fashion stores.
The website features over 700 brands sold in stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Berluti, Prada, Uniqlo and Raph Lauren, and offers a selection ranging from clothing to jewellery, accessories, beauty items and homeware.
Alongside this, the site launched a service called 'WindowsWear Pro' a few months ago. It is exclusive to professionals and allows real-time access to more than 75,000 shop-windows in stores in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Milan and London, unveiling the latest trends in visual merchandising.
It's an innovative tool for retail analysis, used by clients such as BCBG, Guess and Calvin Klein, and by universities like New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.
Another service, less virtual this time, offers web users the chance to take part in two-hour guided tours in New York called 'Fashion Window Walking Tours', discovering the history of window displays in department stores and fashion houses, exploring where Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo, Michael Kors and Tory Burch all got their start, and visiting iconic sites like Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw's favorite store and where Modern Family's Sofia Vergara likes to shop.
With nearly 100,000 unique monthly visitors, the website is well developed in the USA and the UK, and is planning in the next few weeks to accelerate its deployment in France and Europe.
