Spain's Zara will open its first Vietnam store in July. As more Vietnamese people are taking office jobs and receiving higher pay, big name fashion brands such as Gap, Mango and Topshop have become the top choice of many young Vietnamese.

These are the findings of a report from Euromonitor International, which revealed Vietnamese branded goods market could reach $2.7 billion by 2017.

At the other end of the economic scale, Inditex's Zara and sister brand Mango are among foreign brands to have garment factories in Vietnam.

With Zara's plan to rollout its first standalone store by the mid-year, an online retail platform exists already in Vietnam, selling Zara clothes. There's also a Zara showroom in Ho Chi Minh City. But both are limited to end-of-season lines.

Inditex's other top brand Mango arrived in Vietnam in 2004 through a franchise contract signed with Maison JSC.

Mango also has other franchise partners, including DAFC, a subsidiary of IPP, and BFF, belonging to Vingroup.

If Inditex follows international expansion methods used in the past, other fashion brands in its retail fold could arrive on Vietnam shores shortly.

This includes Bershka, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius and Zara Home.
