Italian luxury menswear group Zegna has joined the fray in the battle against Covid-19. The Zegna family and the group's senior management have made a €3 million personal donation to Italy's Civil Protection Agency, aimed at helping doctors, nurses, researchers and volunteers engaged in the front-line fight against the epidemic.

The group also participated in a charitable effort to buy ventilators and medical-grade protective masks for various hospitals.

“At Zegna, we believe our actions today determine our future. The pandemic we are confronted with is a call for everyone to act. Every single one of us must do their part to fight this global emergency,” said Gildo Zegna, CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna, in a press release.

The group also announced that some of the production lines in its Italian and Swiss factories will be switched to producing medical face protection masks, both for the group’s employees and for external needs.
