Inspired by 60’s style icons such as Françoise Hardy, Marianne Faithfull and Brigitte Bardot, fashion designer Zuhair Murad presented in Paris his Autumn Winter 2017 collection, proving his ability to incorporate his couturier skills to a ready-to-wear line.

Macramé mini dresses, A-line skirts, coats, short jackets, tweed trousers and silk lace-up tops were the highlights of a luxurious but easy-to-wear collection, full of everyday looks.

The collection was presented in three mini catwalk shows held outside the official fashion week calendar, which opens this week in Paris with the latest trends for the next Autumn Winter season.

Murad, a member of the prestigious the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris and famously known for his red carpet designs, introduced a youthful spin by reimagining classic 60’s designs such as Mary-Jane sandals, belted fur coats and high heel ankle boots.

The collection also included men’s wear staples for a very sexy and yet elegant women’s wear look, a style that is very different from the feminine gowns he usually designs.

The colour palette was dominated by a combination of black and white, with dark cherry red and mustard yellow touches.

60’s babydoll dresses were updated with lace and sheer details which gave the designs a flirty feel, while the eveningwear took inspiration from his Haute Couture line with above-knee lengths.
