Anthony Vaccarello's new limited edition Lancôme makeup collection can now be snapped up at the brand's UK online boutique.

The Belgian designer has drawn on his fashion experience for the collection, which comprises three "Hypnose" eye shadow Palettes that play with light and shadow.

The palettes come in three different hues -- a nude collection of luminous golds, tans and beiges, a bold collection of shimmering greens, persimmons and coppers, and a blue palette of navy and metallic accents. Blending Vaccarello's modern rock chic aesthetic with Parisian femininity, the iridescent shadows have been designed to bring out the flecks of color in the eye while achieving a natural, smokey look. Each features four eye colors based around the same theme, an eyeliner and a brush.

It is a faithful formula for Vaccarello, who is known in the fashion world for his clever use of asymmetric cuts and graphics and for playing hide and seek with dark and metallic shades. For him, black is a color, as is gold, to be manipulated and contrasted with others. In this sense, the cosmetics echo his own collections.

As well as his own label, Anthony Vaccarello, established in 2009, the designer is also at the helm of Versace's sister line Versus, where he holds the title of Artistic Director.

French cosmetics house Lancôme celebrates its 80th birthday this year. The brand has a long history of collaboration with the art and design world, with previous contributors including designer Proenza Schouler, fashion designers Alber Elbaz and Yiqin Ying.

The limited edition Anthony Vaccarello for Lancôme palettes are priced at 38 pounds (€50.20) each.
