Asics to open more stores in Europe
More and more Asics stores are to be opened in Europe. The sportswear brand will open two stores in Spain this summer: the Barcelona store, covering 5000 square feet on Avinguda Diagonal next to the L'Illa Diagonal shopping centre, is scheduled to open in August. The 6000 square foot Madrid flagship – to open in September – will be found on Plaza de la Independencia opposite the Retiro park, a popular spot for joggers.
“In spite of the economic recession, Asics has invested considerably in the Spanish market which has a strong culture of running”, explained Fernando Pina Mulas, head of sale at Asics Europe.
The two new retail outlets will stock the running collection as well as performance ranges for tennis, hockey and padel tennis, and will also benefit from Asics’s high-tech services such as Foot Id which helps runners find shoes adapted to their stride.
