Aspinal of London to sell stake to support international growth?

Quintessentially British luxury handbag brand Aspinal of London is considering the sale of a stake to support its international expansion plans.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the company has called in advisers from PricewaterhouseCoopers to lead the process.

Aspinal of London offers a variety of handmade designer handbags, purses and wallets, as well as luxury leather gifts. According to financial analysts, the company is likely to be valued at about £75 million.

Founded in 2001 by Chairman Ian Burton, the business received a £9.75m funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial in September 2015 to accelerate its store and concession opening programme.

Aspinal of London enjoys several celebrity and royal customers, such as the Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa Middleton, Liz Hurley, Kim Sears and Olivia Palermo. Its portfolio of stores includes locations in the UK, Ireland, Kuwait and the UAE.
