Bestseller, the Danish group owned by the Holch Povlsen family, may be perceived as rather discrete, but is in fact one of the largest companies in the fashion world. It currently holds a stake of over 17% of ASOS, a major fashion and beauty online store in the UK. Its holdings previously accounted for 10% in the Summer, and 16% by Christmas.
Bestseller sells many famous brands under names such as Vero Moda, Jack&Jones and Villa. According to the Danish press, Bestseller’s CEO Anders Holch made purchases as he went along. This last increase in ASOS’ stake prompted rumours that the Danish group might attempt a takeover.
