The label was founded in 1946 by Bianca Mosca, who had worked closely with her cousin, the legendary couturier Elsa Schiaparelli. Mosca's label was known for its handmade alligator skin bags, wallets and accessories.

The new Bianca Mosca brand will sell alligator wallets, cardholders, pouches and bracelets "made entirely by hand in our French workshops including the use of traditional saddle stitching. Each piece takes from 5 to 10 hours of labor to create by experienced artisans employing long established craft methods," the company said. The pieces will be made to order via online.

The skins used come from farmed American Louisiana alligators, which are listed as being of "Least Concern" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Customers will be able to choose from 14 different colours.
