The new concept offers larger dressing rooms and services such as lounges, free wifi and smartphone charging points. All aimed at a better customer experience, which played a focal point in developing the new concept. Prior to the concept design, over 20,000 customers were interviewed in order for C&A to learn more about their wishes.

In addition to the store services, the new concept features clearer walking routes to improve customer ease for product discovery. The lighting plan has also changed, and now consists of LED lighting, part of C&A’s sustainability strategy.

In March the retailer first announced its plans for the new store concept in the Netherlands. For 2017, it has planned to renovate five Dutch branches. Within four years 80 percent of its 131 stores in the Netherlands should undergo a design transformation.

C&A has more than 1575 stores in 18 European countries. The retailer is also present in Brazil, Mexico and China.
