Clarks sends empowering message to women with new Star Wars line
Available for women and girls, the collection is based on female Star Wars heroine Rey, who has gained a cult following for her strength and bravery. Played by English actress Daisy Ridley, Rey was first introduced in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and is returning to the big screen this year in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
For inspiration, Clarks tapped the character's determination to convey the brand's target image of of authenticity and strength, while at the same time promoting female empowerment.
The collection, titled ‘Force of Nature’, introduces new materials, construction and technologies for more comfort. The shoes feature a close-fit, high-top design, an advanced footbed structure and soft fleece lining. An innovative lacing system ensures the foot stays warm and dry during the winter.
The range will launch in selected stores and online on 1 December, ahead of the official release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on 14 December.
