As SVP of North America Direct to Consumer, Lawner will oversee the North American direct to consumer business, which currently consists of 100 outlet stores, 25 branded stores and branded e-commerce websites for its Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Sorel and Prana brands. The company also plans to add 11 new outlet stores in the US in 2017.

Lawner joined Columbia Sportswear as Interim SVP of North America & EMEA Retail in October 2016 and replaced Shawn Cox, who left the company after three years. The company continued its search to fill the role following Cox’s departure.

Prior to joining Columbia, Lawner served as President, Retail and e-commerce at Nautica for five years, overseeing all aspects of the company’s US direct-to-consumer business. During his 20 year career, he built retail platforms for Gap, Ann Taylor, and Tommy Hilfiger among others.
