Denim by Première Vision reports record attendance

May 30, 2013

PARIS, France - The Parisian denim trade show has reported record attendance for its most recent edition which took place the 22 and 23 May. More than 3000 professionals attended the event which was held at the Halle Freyssinet in Paris. Overall, attendance was up 20%.

This success and recognition can be explained by the strategic choices made by Denim by Première Vision. The show has skilfully addressed the differences and expectations of the sector, with an innovative and specially-adapted display; an affirmed positioning in the premium denim market; a rich and high-quality offer thanks to a rigorous selection of exhibitors and of the products presented; and effective fashion information. All these factors have helped make the show the essential selective and creative platform for international jeanswear.

72% of visitors were international, marking the show’s global importance, though visitors came mainly from Western Europe. UK attendance was up 26% while for France it rose 24%. There was a 10% increase in Italian attendance and a 25% and 27% increase for Northern Europe and the Netherlands respectively.

It is not all good news however. There was an 11% decrease in Spanish buyers at the show, likely a result of economic difficulties in the country. Outside of Europe, the show reported a 5% increase in American visitors. Turkish attendance increased by 12% at this edition, paralleled by the number of Turkish exhibitors that took part in the show.

The next edition of the show will take place in Shanghai in October before return to Paris in November.
