Dunhill: Creative Director John Ray leaves
Feb 22, 2016
Alfred Dunhill announced in a press release that its Creative Director John Ray has left. The historic British label, founded in 1893 and belonging to the Richemont group, stated that the decision was jointly taken.

The Scottish stylist was involved in revamping the luxury goods brand over the course of three years. He was notably the instigator of the launch of the Icon fragrance in early 2015.
The Autumn-Winter 2016-17 collection presented at the latest London men's Fashion Week was the last Dunhill collection by John Ray. For the time being, no successor has been appointed.
The designer was born in Scotland and educated at the renowned Central Saint Martins school, with a specialisation in menswear, before earning a Master's degree at London's Royal College of Art. He made his name by taking charge of Gucci's menswear collection after Tom Ford's departure, and before he was replaced by Frida Giannini in 2006.
