Italian luxury fashion house Fendi will mark 90 years of operation with a first-ever runway show to be held at the recently refurbished Trevi Fountain in Rome.

The iconic fountain will play backdrop on July 7 to Fendi's 'Legends and Fairy Tales' collection, using water and light-play to the highlight pieces designed by Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi.
“A fashion show in Rome at the Trevi Fountain is the best way to celebrate Fendi’s 90 years anniversary as it expresses our roots and DNA while transmitting daring creativity and craftsmanship," said Pietro Beccari, Fendi chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
"The Trevi Fountain is a unique place and it represents Fendi's preservation of values, tradition and historic patronage while looking towards the future."
Fendi contributed to making-over the restored Trevi Fountain, which was unveiled last November.
The house opened its first Rome boutique in 1926 in Via del Plebiscito.
