Global Fashion Group's The Iconic adds ex-David Jones exec to advisory team
Australian online fashion retailer The Iconic announced on Thursday the appointment of Donna Player as an "independent member" of its advisory committee, effective immediately.
The Iconic, owned by Global Fashion Group, has added Player, an Australian fashion retail veteran, in a bid to glean from her "extensive experience and guidance," according to Patrick Schmidt, CEO of The Iconic.
“As one of Australia’s youngest, most ambitious and fastest growing retailers we are delighted to welcome Donna Player, a renowned industry veteran, to our advisory committee," said Schmidt, in a press release.
"At just five years old, The Iconic will benefit greatly from her extensive experience and guidance as we approach exciting milestones on our journey.”
With over thirty year's fashion industry experience, Player most recently served as Head of Merchandise at David Jones where she was responsible for the department store’s key categories including apparel, footwear and accessories, both in-store and online. Prior to her time at David Jones, she held a wide variety of senior management roles across the retail sector.
Founded in late 2011, The Iconic is Australia's largest online fashion retailer. Offering 45,000 products from 700 local and international brands, the website attracts more than ten million visits per month. It forms part of Global Fashion Group, a leading online fashion destination for emerging markets.
