Guess to launch new swimwear capsule with A Bikini A Day
Guess this month announced a new collaboration with swimwear lifestyle website and brand A Bikini A Day. The collaboration capsule is the latest collaboration for Guess, which has partnered with rapper A$AP Rocky on two collections and Fox television show Empire.
The swimwear collection, which is designed for the confident beach dweller, is described as a dream come true for A Bikini A Day founders Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman. The swimwear concept was born from the duo’s love for the beach, travel and bikinis, despite living in two different corners of the world (Oakley hails from Sydney, Australia and Brugman is from Maui). A Bikini A Day launched on Instagram in 2012, and has amassed just under 650,000 followers to date.
Prior to collaborating with Guess, A Bikini A Day partnered with Tory Burch, Billabong, and Vix Swimwear and launched personal brand Monday Swimwear.
The 13-piece capsule collection is comprised of one-piece and two-piece swimsuits featuring back-plunging details, and gingham prints and pink floral patterns on off-the-shoulder bikini tops and high-waist bikini bottoms.
“Designing a collection for Guess has always been a dream of ours and we are so excited to fuse our two passions together by creating an iconic and vintage inspired swimwear line for Guess,” said Oakley and Brugman.
“Our brand is built on the foundation that women should feel empowered, strong and beautiful and we believe Guess embodies that same mindset.”
Guess tapped Los Angeles-based photographer Tatiana Gerusova to shoot the campaign in support of the collection launch on May 16. The campaign features Oakley and Brugman in black-and-white images reminiscent of Guess’ ad campaigns from the 80’s and 90’s.
The duo added, “This is the most exciting campaign we have ever shot and we are so honored to have been invited by GUESS to be part of such an iconic brand.”
The Guess x A Bikini A Day swimwear capsule will be available at Guess stores and on the Guess website beginning on May 16.
