H&M has just announced the appointment of Donald Schneider to the post of artistic director at its eponymous label. Just as Diesel did with Bruno Collin, the Swedish group called upon the press to advertise the position. Donald Schneider has been artistic director since 2008 for the German magazine Stern (Gruner + Jahr group). The 50 year old man knows the brand and the fashion industry well. With Swiss-American origin, he was creative director for Vogue France and Vogue Hommes International from 1994 to 2002. He is also founder of an agency specialising in image, concept and campaign positioning. He has worked for many brands including S. Oliver, Chloé, Brioni, Hugo Boss and Cerruti. Using his studio, he has spearheaded the campaign for the collaboration between Karl Lagerfeld and H&M as well as the H&M magazine.
