Inter Parfums (fragrances for Lanvin, Jimmy Choo and Repetto) just got a stronger foothold in China. Through its new subsidiary based in Hong Kong, Inter Parfums USA Hong Kong, the fragrance company has signed a worldwide licensing agreement for twelve years to create, produce and distribute fragrances and beauty products for the Chinese luxury brand Shanghai Tang. The first fragrance under this partnership will launch in spring 2014.

Founded in 1994, Shanghai Tang now has a worldwide network of 45 stores, offering high-end apparel and accessories for men, women and children as well as a home line.
“China is a strategic priority for Inter Parfums,” said Jean Madar, the company’s CEO. “And, as this is an important new relationship for us, we have established a new subsidiary in Hong Kong, Inter Parfums USA Hong Kong Limited, to manage the global operations of the Shanghai Tang brand. We believe that Shanghai Tang is a truly unique brand with exceptional potential to become a global beauty brand,” she said. Inter Parfums is now likely to sign more deals with Chinese beauty brands in the future.
