Branded ‘Selly Oak Shopping Park’, the scheme will be located in the south-west of Birmingham in the affluent suburb near to Edgbaston, Harborne, Moseley and King’s Norton.

Selly Oak is also home to Battery Retail Park, a smaller shopping destination currently housing Sports Direct, Next, Halfords, Sainsbury’s and TX Maxx stores.

Next and Sainsbury’s are expected to close their existing stores in Battery Retail Park to join the Selly Oak Shopping Park scheme. Next is understood to have taken a 16,000 sq ft unit at the new development, while Sainsbury’s is set to open an 115,000 sq ft store with underground car parking.

The shopping centre will offer over 220,000 sq ft of retail space and more than 800 car parking spaces.

Costa and Nando’s have also confirmed they will join the line-up.
